Wellington Crescent Bandstand – Listed Grade II
Designed by the Ramsgate Borough Engineer in 1939 replacing an earlier cast iron model and adapted during WW2 for use as part of a gun emplacement. Very similar, in terms of design and materials, to the bandstand in Eastbourne, East Sussex, and may be by the same hand. The surrounding polished concrete dance floor is an American innovation unusual for the United Kingdom.
