Madeira Walk and Cascade – Listed Grade II |
| Constructed by Ramsgate Borough Council in 1891 as part of a civic improvement scheme, together with Royal Parade, to link the two cliffs. Gardens constructed in artificial rock (‘Pulhamite’) by James Pulham (1820-1898) and Son of Broxbourne. The cascade was popularly referred to at the time as “the rate-payers’ tears” due to cost overruns. One of the three major examples of Pulhamite work in Ramsgate. |
