Welcome to the Eastcliff Residents’ Association website.
We are the ‘Voice of the Eastcliff’ for all who live and work in this part of Ramsgate, and our main aim is to enhance cultural and social opportunities for the people of this area.
The Eastcliff is rich in history and architecture, much of which is featured here. We focus on the area between the seafront and King Street, and from Harbour Street in the town centre to Thanet Road.

About the ERA
ERA’s work is solely undertaken by volunteers, to whom we are hugely grateful. We currently need additional members for the Executive Committee and sub-Committees. If you are interested or would like to know what this entails please contact us. Contact details are on the contact us page.
Our Executive Committee oversees ERA and keeps the wheels turning on a monthly basis. We produce and distribute a quarterly newsletter, keeping residents up-to-date on local issues and developments.
Our sub-committees worked together to represent the membership on specific issues:
|
Eastcliff in Bloom. This sub-committee worked with residents to make the Eastcliff a more beautiful place to live by ‘greening up’ the local streets and improving planting in our open spaces, where we have planted thousands of bulbs in the last few years.
Youth Focus Group. Volunteers worked positively with local youngsters to increase activities available.
|
Unfortunately, due to a lack of volunteers, the above two groups are currently inactive. We desperately want to resurect them and continue the good work done in the past. We need help. If you have any spare time and want to help organise and run either of these activities then please contact us.

Activities
!!!Halloween!!!
For the fourth year, ERA offered local children and their families lots of Halloween fun! Craft activities (as well as Halloween refreshments) were available at Albion House in Albion Gardens on the Eastcliff. Then from 5-6pm, accompanied children went in search of Halloween treats on the Eastcliff. Groups were given a map of houses that welcomed trick or treaters. As in previous years, this was an excellent event with many ERA members giving Eastcliff's trick or treaters an exciting and spooky time, and we know that the children enjoyed it because they come every year and many dress up too!
Meetings
We hold a Public Meeting on the second Thursday of each month, at Albion House (in Albion Place).
Previous speakers have included representatives from Thanet District Council who have spoken about recycling, parks and gardens, and Pugin’s legacy in the area; our local police force who have spoken about their work and personal safety; people from local organisations such as the St John’s Ambulance Service, the Granville Cinema and Theatre, and Kent International Airport; we have also hosted debates about the former Pleasurama development ( now ‘Royal Sands’) and local consultations about the Bandstand redevelopment.
